2. Participation through Twitch chat
When you send the !hatch command in Twitch chat during an active egg event, the local Nessie bot treats that message as an entry. Your Twitch user ID, Twitch username and display name, together with the event, result, rarity, shiny status and hatch time, are processed. Other chat-message content is not required for the Nessie collection.
3. Public collector list
Actively participating with !hatch creates a publicly visible entry under your Twitch name. The collector page may show your collection progress, discovered Nessies, and the date and time of your Nessie finds. The list is accessible without signing in.
4. Purpose and legal basis
The processing is used to operate the interactive Twitch collecting game, evaluate egg events transparently, and display public rankings and collections. The proposed legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is the operation of a voluntary community game and a transparent game history that participants can inspect. Active participation forms part of the balancing assessment but is not treated as consent on its own. You may object to the processing on grounds relating to your particular situation.
5. Retention and deletion
The collector entry and hatch history are generally retained while Nessie Collector is operated or until you request deletion. Statutory retention duties or the defence of specific abuse and legal claims may require limited continued storage in individual cases.
6. Requesting deletion
While the Nessie bot is online, you can delete your Nessie data yourself in Twitch chat. First send !nessie-delete, then confirm within ten minutes with !nessie-delete confirm. Both commands are tied exclusively to the user ID supplied by Twitch, so another Twitch account cannot confirm your deletion. This removes your public collector entry, hatch history, stored event entries and the Nessie link to your Twitch account. Your Bleeding Souls account is not affected.
Alternatively, send a deletion request with the subject “Nessie deletion” and your Twitch username to Tobias.E.Blood@Gmail.com, or contact xblood on Discord. To protect other accounts, reasonable proof may be requested that the request relates to your Twitch account.
7. Technically necessary data
To deliver the website securely, the web server processes technically necessary connection data, in particular the IP address, time, requested address and browser information. A technically necessary session cookie is used for login and security functions, and the selected language code is stored locally in the browser. Nessie Collector does not set advertising or analytics cookies.
8. Recipients and Twitch
Public collector data is visible to website visitors. Technical data may be processed by the hosting provider while operating the website. Twitch chat communication uses Twitch; Twitch's own processing is additionally governed by the Twitch Privacy Notice.
“Load stream” first opens an explanation. Only after explicit consent is the Twitch player requested or, with a correspondingly labelled button, Twitch opened in a new tab. Your IP address and technical browser data may then be transmitted to Twitch.
9. Your rights
Subject to the GDPR, you have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and objection. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. For private organisations based in Bavaria, the competent authority is generally the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA).
10. Showcase and optional progress
Your showcase stores your selected Nessie and the selection time. When levels are active, XP, levels and special completion states are also stored and shown in your collection. New finds do not earn XP while levels are inactive; existing progress is retained. These data serve only the collecting game and never affect drop chances. Deleting your game data also removes these details.
11. Twitch player and browser storage
You can use the collection without the Twitch player. The player connects to Twitch only after you agree. Twitch receives your IP address and browser data, may set cookies and may process data outside the EU. This optional embedding relies on Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and, where required, section 25(1) TDDDG. Your consent is not saved permanently. Reloading the Nessie page turns the player off again; closing the expandable stream panel also stops its player. This does not erase data already transferred or Twitch cookies. Close any separately opened Twitch page yourself.
The website remembers your language in your browser until you clear its website data. Necessary session cookies support sign-in and security (section 25(2)(2) TDDDG). Nessie Collector does not embed its own analytics or advertising trackers.
12. Sharing collections and further rights
Collection downloads create an image in your browser and do not automatically send it to another service. Sharing it makes your Twitch name and finds visible. The game does not collect watch time, email addresses, postal addresses or payment data from Twitch participants. Deleting your collection cannot remove other people's screenshots or Twitch messages and stream recordings already published.
You also have a right to data portability where its statutory conditions apply and may withdraw consent for the future. This does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing. Contact the controller above for requests.
